TV SHOWS:

bridgerton: penelope featherington

reason: i love penelope and i see myself a lot in her. awkward, quiet, wallflower. she's also gorgeous and i love that she's married to colin. nicola is a fantastic actress too and you will see her again on this list!

derry girls: claire devlin

reason: claire is so goofy. again, i see myself in her. and again, its nicola! she's hilarious, and adorable. i love the derry girls, it is such a good show and highly recommend it to anyone!

gilmore girls: luke danes

reason: luke is so funny. he has such a dry sense of humor and i'm so happy he ends up with lorelai. he is also entirely hot LOL.

impractical jokers: brian "q" quinn

reason: now hes not necessarily a character considering he plays himself on a reality show, but he is my favorite of the 4. i love how awkward he is and how dry his humor is. he is so funny with the things he will do on the show and what he won't. once again, entirely hot LOLL.

lucifer: lucifer morningstar

reason: i love crime shows, especially ones that aren't entirely too gory. there is one episode in season 3 i cannot watch because of how absolutely nasty it is. either way, lucifer is my favorite. he is the crime fighting devil! i love his character arc and the fact that a random man was just allowed to fight crime alongside the detective lol.

modern family: jay pritchett

reason: jay is so funny. the patriarch of the family. he also reminds me of my pop SO MUCH. i love how much he grew in the show and how accepting he became of mitch and cam. i also love how much he loves manny even tho i don't really like manny. 

favorite quote: "ah jeez."

stranger things: chief jim hopper

reason: i love hopper. he is so funny and grew so much throughout the show. i love that he took in el and cares for her with everything he has, even if he has a funny way of showing it.

favorite quote: "nod if you understand!"

supernatural: dean winchester

reason: i love dean. i love dean so much. he is such an amazing character and entirely amusing. i love supernatural altogether. he is entirely attractive, obviously, and his dynamic with sam is fantastic.

the office: kevin malone

reason: he is so silly. he is such an awkward random character, he's so lovable. for my 16th birthday, my dad got me a cameo from brian baumgartner. it was so amazing, i was so excited. i have seen the entire show over 15 times. i watched this show NON STOP from 2017-2021. i know everything about the office.

wednesday: wednesday addams

reason: like i said, i love crime shows. i love the bleakness of wednesday and her dry humor. she has such a good character arc and i see myself in her a lot.

MOVIES: 

beetlejuice: betelgeuse

reason: i put off watching this movie for so long. i was terrified that it was going to be scary and i hate scary things. i am obsessed with the broadway show so i had to watch the movie. it then became my favorite. i watch it every halloween. i've got posters and funko pops and keychains all over my room. i love beetlejuice.

favorite quote: "Ah. Well I attended Juilliard, I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the black plague and had a pretty good time during that. I'VE SEEN THE EXORCIST A HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN TIMES AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER, EVERY TIME I SEE IT! NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKIN TO A DEAD GUY! NOW WHAT D'YOU THINK!... d'you think I'm qualified?"

clue: wadsworth

reason: i love tim curry and was heartbroken when i heard he died. clue is my absolute favorite movie of his. ive seen it so many times and its just an absolute classic.

die hard: hans gruber

reason: i have seen die hard a countless amount of times. alan rickman is my favorite actor of all time. hans is such an amazing character, so purely driven by money. amazing.

favorite quote: "what idiot put you in charge?"

forrest gump: forrest gump

reason: i love forrest. hes adorable and i think hes a perfect character of perseverance. i wish he would have ended up with someone other than jenny, but the man loved her with all of his heart.

favorite quote: "jenny and me was like peas and carrots."

harry potter: severus snape

reason: snape is my fav. he is an icon. he is such a complex character that mostly had harrys best interests at heart. again, i love alan rickman. i deadass have a 6 foot cardboard cutout of snape in my room. book snape was terrible. he is evil with no personality. alan rickman brought him to life in the best way.

hunger games: haymitch abernathy

reason: i am so excited for the upcoming hunger games movie. the hunger games means so much to me for so many reasons. haymitch is such an intriguing character and i can't wait to see joseph zada play him. 

favorite quote: "embrace the possibility of your imminent death, and know, in your heart, that there is nothing i can do to save you."

the greatest showman: p.t. barnum

reason: i ONLY like the movie version of mr barnum. he was a terrible exploitative person in real life. hugh jackman brings a whole new light to mr barnum and it makes it more fun to differentiate character from real person. 

favorite quote: "what's waited 'til tomorrow starts tonight!"

twilight: alice cullen

reason: alice is adorable. she is such a good friend to bella and a sister to edward. her background is so sad thus im happy she ends up with jasper. her hair is my fav in the first movie too LOL.

favorite quote: "oh! you do smell good!"

wicked: glinda upland

reason: glinda is just such an icon. i love pink and i think her songs are amazing. i hope she lives the political life she deserves with helping all of the oz residents. that's just my head cannon ig. 

favorite quote: "popular! you're gonna be pop-u-lar!"

x-men: wolverine

reason: i dont know why i love wolverine. it could be hugh jackman, it could be the fact that he is mysterious and complicated. i dont know. what i do know, is that i have no issue whatsoever with the fact that the xmen movies center around him LOL.

favorite quote: "im the best there is at what i do, and what i do isn't very nice."

the end!! whilst making this, i noticed i have a type when it comes to favorite characters: weird, mysterious, goofy, and rugged. interesting.

long time no see. 

its been rough. i've been working a lot. we're severely understaffed right now and every day that i'm not at school, i'm at work. i'm exhausted. my classes have started: animal behavior, social psychology, behavioral statistics, and macroeconomics. i'm not gonna lie to you, i've skipped a total of 7 classes altogether. i don't want to skip classes but the way i've been rationalizing it is that everything is online. all of my coursework is online and 90% of the notes as well. i feel very unmotivated and nothing seems to motivate me. i feel severely guilty every time i skip a class and i don't know why. i looked on reddit once to see if other people felt the guilt like i do and all of the replies were just absolutely trashing the person. that didn't help and, frankly, i hate reddit. i haven't seen any of my friends in what feels like forever. 

i have a new coworker at work and i do not like him. i decide pretty quickly whether or not i like someone and he was almost an immediate no. he's generally nice however, he has no interest in anything i say. you may be wondering why i think that and it's because he does not expand on conversations. for example, i have my cat, foofy. foofy is a very very weird name. whenever i mention foofy to people, they immediately comment on his name where i then explain where it came from. this often leads to talking about each others pets aka a normal conversation. when i mentioned foofy to him, there was no response. not even a funny look; just a blank face. that was my first clue. he also constantly cuts me off. CONSTANTLY. i can't get a single sentence out without him butting in. this is something my brother used to do to me and it drove me crazy. i could possibly tolerate this however last night was my final straw, and i've only worked with him 3 times. 

it was me, my manager, and the new coworker. we were recovering the store and just chatting. we're coming into our slow season so there isn't much to do most of the time. i was fixing some things where the topic of social work came up. i stated "i could never be a social worker" and my reasoning is that i would be entirely unprofessional. i would completely beat someone up for even saying anything sideways to a child let alone anything more. he jumped onto the end of my sentence, laughing, and said "i completely agree!" i was slightly confused so i asked him why and his reasoning was: "you are very unsympathetic. you have no sympathy and you wouldn't be a good social worker." i'm not a huge fan of kids, however i would never let anything happen to a child. what he said made me kind of sad. i made a face to my manager where he couldn't see me and she started to defend me. "well, you don't know her very well" is what she said. the new coworker then started to explain MORE why i would not be a good social worker. 

i immediately shut down. that was an entirely rude thing to say. ironically, i have always had a problem with being too sympathetic and empathetic. if someone is even the slightest bit sad, i would do anything to make them feel better. i feel guilt for things i haven't even done and for things other people do. i constantly apologize for things i say if i think they came out wrong. i offer money or help if it is necessary and i'm happy to do so.

my manager, who i've become very close to, was not happy with what he said. she asked if i wanted her to say something to him, but i need to stand up for myself or let things roll off my back. i can't go running to her every time someone may make me sad. so i said no and tried to let it go for the rest of the night. that didn't work, obviously. i was cordial with him, continuing conversations but i had ultimately decided i strongly disliked him. he really likes my manager. follows her around, never cuts her off, and enjoys impressing her. there is nothing wrong with this whatsoever, but when it comes at the expense of me, i don't like it. its a sticky situation.
